Description
Covid19 has affected all of us in different ways.
I am a Kindy teacher. When this virus found its way to Australia, it was my job to continue to teach my 3 and 4 year old students while also implementing social distancing measures. My head was spinning. I needed a way to keep the class as 'safe' and 'normal' as possible for these young, impressionable minds while also following the necessary measures.
On a particularly sleepless night, as a grappled with ways to make social distancing 'fun', I created this painting. It started off with a chaotic flurry of oil pastels as I processed the challenge ahead. As I prayed and processed, the leaves appeared and the painting took shape with a layer of acrylic paint.
My prayer is that the painting will inspire you to pray through hard things. That as the challenges flurry through your mind, peace will flood in and settle the thoughts, like leaves falling to the ground.
